Basic Features

Help Desk Server is a web based help desk software. You can use it to set up an internal IT help desk, facility help desk or other type of help desk web site. When other employees need your service or when they encounter problems with their software, hardware or other equipment, they can come to the help desk web site to search the knowledge base for information or existing solutions to their problems, or submit service requests to you.

Help desk technicians come to the web site to check their work assignments and respond to service requests. Help desk managers come to the web site to monitor and manage the help desk.

Help Desk Server integrates with your email system. It provides customizable email notification upon submission, assignment, closing of a request. It can also receive service requests submitted by email. You can set up an email account such as helpdesk@yourcompany.com for Help Desk Server.

Users can send requests to this email address. Help Desk Server imports them in to the database as if they were submitted via the web interface. Help Desk Server can also integrate with LDAP/Active directory for user authentication.
 
Advanced Features

Help Desk Server provides many other advanced features including discussion forum, asset/inventory management, and request type and location based service request routing. Its customizable Issue Escalator automatically escalates high priority service requests if they are not closed within certain time frame. Its customizable Due Date Reminder sends reminders to help desk staff by email before the due date of the service requests.
