Why do you need
iAM:Networks?
Your network is a major part of your business and it is
the basis of all modern Business Service delivery. It is essential that
you understand how your network is performing and whether all the
components of a network are running properly. Network problems can cause
as many if not more problems than server or application failure.
With iAM:Networks you can monitor traffic flows and the
status of network devices, sending alerts when thresholds are reached or
problems have occurred. The data can also be stored for subsequent
analysis and graphing to ensure SLA compliance. This enables you to have
continual confidence in the quality and delivery of your business critical
applications. How does iAM:Networks do it?
Network Traffic Analysis
The Traffic Analyser uses non-intrusive detectors to continually monitor
data packets travelling along key segments, analysing the type e.g. web
traffic, ftp traffic, mail traffic etc. and session data. It allows you to
find out exactly how saturated your network is, where packets of
information are going, and where they are coming from.

information please see

Network Device Monitor
The Device Monitor gathers SNMP traps and analyses them to see if a device
has a problem condition. It also polls SNMP based network devices for key
values, looking for exception conditions and storing the data for
subsequent reporting/graphing. This gives a good overview of how the
devices are working and rapid notification of problems.

Is Reporting and Graphing possible?
Network traffic data and SNMP device values are stored
for subsequent reporting/graphing. This way you can see when bandwidth
problems occur and what is causing them. The interactive graphing tool
allows you to drill down through the data for full investigation.
Alerting mechanisms:
iAM:Networks sends alerts if user defined thresholds are
exceeded for total bandwidth utilisation, individual traffic types or SNMP
device values. The Alerting mechanisms include:
Pop-ups, email, Paging/SMS messages, links to
Enterprise Management systems, links to help desks etc.
How does iAM:Networks benefit my
business?
The network is a key component of any Business Service
and it is essential to monitor it in the same way as all the other IT
components that comprise the service. iAM:Networks addresses this and
helps keep your IT business services at optimum performance. iAM:Networks
also enables you to analyse the essential information needed to keep your
networks healthy and accurately target future bandwidth requirements and
investment. What About ROI and TCO?
With iAM:Networks you can be looking at real data flows
within 30 minutes of set-up. Being a non-intrusive, self-contained network
monitoring solution, iAM:Networks will not degrade the performance of the
network itself and requires little if any maintenance, helping to reduce
Total Cost of Ownership.
What types of organisations use
iAM:Networks?
iAM:Networks is a cost-effective solution for any
organisation that needs to monitor and maximise the performance of its
networks. It is essential for any organisation wishing to ensure total
Business Service performance and availability. |
