iAM:TotalView

iAM:TotalView gives a holistic view of your IT as it relates to your business, correlating the IT components to your business services. Thus when problems occur with any element of your IT it's immediately clear which business services are affected. This way you are able to tell at a glance what is happening within your business and what the priorities are for problem resolution.

Why is this necessary?

Traditionally when a problem occurred within the IT department, it wasn't obvious what affect it had on the business. Today when a problem occurs within your IT environment - either with hardware, operating systems, applications or networks - you need to know what business services are affected. iAM:TotalView is a Service Level Management solution that allows you to instantly see the state of your computer delivered "business services", by linking problems with IT objects to business services (like web services, accounts, e-mail). In short, iAM:TotalView lets you see the "wood for the trees".

How does iAM:TotalView do this?

Using a simple GUI interface, you can define which IT components belong to which Business Services. If a particular component is shared by 2 services, then you can make multiple entries. When an alert is sent regarding a particular component, then the services affected are highlighted immediately, allowing you to focus on a Service centric view. Drill down permits IT operations teams to find the exact problem and take the appropriate corrective actions.
Correlation rules allow you to cater for disaster recovery situations, where loss of a single element does not mean service failure.
Creating the model within iAM:TotalView that links Services to IT components is not time consuming, and iAM:TotalView can dynamically add previously unknown components as it receives alerts from them.
