Manager Plus |

Network Enterprises |
Print Manager Plus is superior quota
management software that allows you to track user and printer usage as
well as cut wasted budget resulting from uncontrolled, irresponsible
printing. It limits printer wear and tear as well as paper and toner
use. These items amount to a major portion of any budget and are
impossible to control without effective tracking. You'll be amazed how
much you can save by just tracking this outflow.
Print Manager Plus was written from the ground up as a native
32-bit NT/2000/XP application and service. It allows quota and tracking
of all printing activity on a Windows NT/2000 Network. It will track
pages being printed from the following clients: Windows 2000/NT 4.0,
3.51, Windows XP, Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows 3.1, DOS, Macintosh,
UNIX (all flavors), and OS/2. |
| |
Print Manager Plus provides you with the following
features:
-
Tracks,
Controls and Reports Printing Usage and Costs Across
Networks
-
Budget
and Quota users by Amount, Pages, Copies and File Type
-
Complete
Cost and Usage Accounting
-
Complete

Recover Lost Profits:
Probably the greatest hidden
and uncontrolled expense in an organization is the cost of printing.
Dataquest figures show that the average cost of producing documents
(paper, hardware, and ink) is equivalent to 40% of a company's labour cost.
Handling this alone can save money and prevent the need for painful budget
cuts.
For Windowsฎ Enterprise
Networks:
Print Manager Plus installs in
seconds on any Windows NT, 2000 or XP print server and is so
cost-effective it often pays for itself within 10 days. If you run on
budgets and especially if you are responsible for printing, you need Print
Manager Plus.
What is Print Management?:
A print tracking and control
system (also called quota management) is used to control and limit the
usage of valuable resources, namely wear and tear on printers, paper and
toner. Just like disk space, printers are abused, and many thousands of
reams of paper are wasted annually. This is a large cost and is hard to
control without the proper data and tools.
The overall functions that a print tracking and control system should
perform can be broken down into four areas - Tracking, Control, Reporting
and Accounting. |
Tracking |
Ability to show the number of pages printed by printer, by user. |
Ability to track printing to specific printers (such as more costly
colour printers). |
Ability to keep history records for print traffic by user, by printer
(for determining heavy usage periods), by date and by document title. |
Ability to
show operating costs by printer and by user. |
Control (Quota
Your Users) |
Ability to set user quotas by currency value. |
Denial of service when this quota is exceeded by a user. |
Ability to set different "per page values" for each printer. |
Denial of service on jobs which are printed from specific applications
or which have designated key words in the document title.. |
User notification (through pop-up messages) when their print job has
been denied. |
User warned (before quota reached) when quota is getting low. |
Ability to either Delete, Pause or leave a job when a restriction has
been activated or quota exceeded. |
Ability to pause all jobs which enter a specific printer queue from a
specific user(s). |
Ability to restrict and notify unrecognized users such as when a new
user is added to the domain but no quota has been set. |
Reports and Graphs |
Ability to generate reports based on printing by user or by printer.
These reports are typically used to charge back departments for
printing costs. Reports generated include user name, document name,
date, time, number of pages, job cost and printer used. |
Ability to spot gross offenders by sorting a list of users by pages
printed. |
Pre-made reports and graphs include: |

Accounting |
Print Manager Plus takes print management to a new level with a robust accounting
function. |
Each printer can be assigned a "cost per page" value. These values
will be tracked as number of pages printed as well as total value of
pages printed. |
Add a balance to a user. This balance is the users account or "Quota"
The user prints and the value for that printer is deducted from his
balance. |
User Group Defaults allow you to add a balance to many users in a
group at one time. |
Adjust Account Balance - This allow you to adjust the users balance
without resetting the number of pages printed. |
Add Credit to Account - This allows you to add more value to the
balance of the account. |
Reset Pages Printed - This allows you to reset the pages printed to 0
without resetting the account balance. |
Print Manager Plus will automatically reset or increase balances by a
specified amount for all users, a specific user or groups of users. |
