|
Centennial Software's
ActiveSERVER solution
complements Centennial Discovery
by helping organizations manage
the software licenses delivered
through Citrix and Microsoft
Terminal Server environments in
a single central database –
making it easier to ensure
compliance with licensing models
and negotiate advantageous
contracts. |
| |
|
Using ActiveSERVER is simple: |
| |
|
An
ActiveSERVER agent is deployed
to each server to be monitored.
The agent will automatically
record the number of uses of an
application by each individual
user and the duration of each
period of usage. |
| |
|
Blocks of licenses can be
attributed to desktops or
servers, as license entitlements
are recorded in ActiveSERVER.
The administrator chooses which
applications to monitor for
compliance. |
| |
|
Citrix
or Terminal Server sessions
usage is automatically
recognised. Up-to-date license
reports are available at any
time, highlighting over and
under-licensing for both
concurrent and peak license
models. |

Historical data from
ActiveSERVER can be viewed and
analyzed using the ActiveSAM
interface (provided free to
existing Centennial Discovery
users). Data is either uploaded
automatically at pre-set
intervals, or can be executed
on-demand. |
| |
|
ActiveSERVER can be used
alongside Centennial Discovery,
or can be purchased separately
to manage thin-client-only
environments. |
