- CD-ROM drive for installation (not
required for download version)

Software
- Requirements for servers:
- O&O Defrag V8 Server Edition runs
with Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows NT 4.0 (all
versions).
- O&O Defrag V8 Server Edition
includes the Management Console for network administration of O&O
Defrag V8 Professional/Server agents.
- Requirements for
workstations:
- O&O Defrag V8 Professional Edition
installs on Windows XP Home Edition, Windows XP Professional, Windows
2000 Professional, and Windows NT 4.0 Workstation. The Professional
Edition will not install on Windows 2003/2000/NT servers.
- O&O Defrag V8 Professional Edition can
optionally be administrated GUI-less over the network with the
Management Console of the Server Edition.
- Please note:
O&O Defrag V6 Professional/Server will not install on Windows 95/98/Me
computers.
Additional requirements
for Windows NT 4
The following components and updates are
required to run O&O Defrag on Windows NT 4:
- Microsoft Service Pack 6 for Windows
NT4
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01
- Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0
Also, to use the O&O Defrag network
management with Windows NT4, the following components have to be
installed:
- Microsoft Management Console (MMC)

All components are free of charge and can
be downloaded from Microsoft.
Supported Network
Protocols
Any protocol which is supported by
Windows 2003/XP/2000/NT, can be used, e.g.:
- TCP/IP
- NetBEUI
- IPX/SPX
- HTTP
Access requirements
- You must be a member of the Domain
Administrator group or have similar rights to install and configure O&O
Defrag V6 Professional/Server.
