Policy Patrol version 5 includes
many new features. Find out what
is new and how this will benefit
your organization:
Find out how to
upgrade
to Policy Patrol 5
Anti-spam
-
Better spam
management - Users
can now view, delete and
release their quarantined
emails via a web browser and
directly via Outlook. In
addition, they can add
entries to the white lists
and black lists. Version 5
also includes a spam
classification system,
classifying spam messages as
either known spam or
suspected spam with the
advantage that you only need
to concentrate on suspected
spam and avoid wasting any
time on known spam.
-
Block more (image)
spam - Policy
Patrol version 5 utilizes
new techniques to block more
spam and create less false
positives. Version 5 now
includes gray listing, a
proven way to reduce spam
messages and stop virus
outbreaks. Gray listing is
also a much needed tool to
protect against the growing
nuisance of image spam.
-
Less false positives
- Never miss an email with
the personalized quarantine
report that can be emailed
to individual users and
administrators. Messages can
be white listed and
delivered straight from the
email. Users can now also
import their Outlook and
Active Directory contacts
into the Policy Patrol white
list to avoid false
positives.
-
Improved tracking of
messages - It is
now easier than ever to find
a specific email in
quarantine by using the
Search facility in the
Administration console or
web manager. The new Message
history includes filters
that allow you to find
particular messages more
easily. The new Policy
Patrol audit trail logs help
you track user spam
management and include
information on which users
deleted or delivered which
messages and which entries
were added to the black and
white lists by which users.
-
More customizable
- The new Policy Patrol Web
Manager API now allows
companies to customize the
interface of the web manager
to suit their own needs.
Disclaimers
-
Long & short
signatures -
Version 5 now allows you to
easily configure different
signatures for initial
emails and subsequent
messages, allowing you to
add a long signature version
to the initial email and a
shorter version to any
subsequent replies or
forwards.
-
Easier email
branding - Policy
Patrol 5 now includes an
HTML template editor
allowing you to edit
templates directly in the
HTML source.
-
Even more granular
disclaimers -
Disclaimers can now even be
applied to messages matching
a SQL database query. For
instance by applying a
disclaimer rule that matches
recipients in your customer
SQL database, you can apply
a different disclaimer or
signature footer for
existing customers.
-
Disclaimer placement
- It is now easier than ever
to adjust the positioning of
your disclaimer and
signature just the way you
want it.
Archiving
-
User and condition
based archiving -
Version 5 now allows you to
decide which emails to
archive by selecting
conditions and users.
-
Smaller database
size - Spam can now
be excluded from the
database and attachments are
compressed, resulting in
reduced database size and
faster searching.
Email monitoring
-
Improved
notifications -
Notification messages can
now include a list of the
words found that triggered
the notification message.
This is particularly useful
for content checking rules,
for instance when checking
for offensive words or
confidential content.
-
Easier quarantine
management -
Version 5 allows you to
configure quarantine reports
that can be sent on specific
days/times to Administrators
and managers. If any
messages get caught, a
report will be emailed
containing the quarantined
messages, allowing the
manager to view the message
in a web console and take
appropriate action.
-
Audit trail logging
- The daily Audit trail log
includes information on
which users deleted or
delivered which messages and
which entries were added to
the black and white lists by
which users. Administrators
can go over these logs to
make sure that users have
not mistakenly added email
addresses to the white list
or black list.
-
More advanced report
scheduling - It is
now possible to more
precisely specify when a
report should be emailed and
in which format the report
should be.
Zip
-
More granular
compression rules -
Policy Patrol 5 provides
even more granularity by
allowing you to configure
compression rules based on a
SQL query.
